General Information
Mountainbaggers Philosophy
All our ventures are guided / instructed. Our aim is to introduce or extend your experiences in wild and exciting mountain areas. Groups are kept small and where necessary techniques deemed useful or essential to the venture are instructed in an informal way keeping a balance between freedom and safety.
Accommodation & Meals
Where possible, to keep continuity and an empathy with the venture, accommodation is based away from large settlements. See specific information sheets for supported and self sufficient treks.

Self sufficient treks are often remote and at altitude with only a general idea of where each days site will be. This gives maximum flexibility. Occasionally at either end of the season when the weather can be variable we use remote hotels or mountain huts.

In fully supported treks all food is included in the cost. Meals are provided using, as far as possible, a range of local foods plus traditional English fare. See trek information packs for further details. Self supported groups are given a food allowance based on average local supermarket costs.

Our supported groups accommodation is varied. Hotels, mountain huts and two person tents. Whilst camping meals are served in a dining shelter. You may be asked to assist with personal tents.

Accommodation for our Chamonix Valley ventures are in local hotels to suit all pockets.

Staff
Our staff are all nationally / internationally qualified with a wealth of experience in leading and instructing mountain ventures.

Who could be in your Party ?
Predominantly our ventures will be with United Kingdom nationals but occasionally other nationalities. English will be the common language. There is no upper age limit but we do not accept unaccompanied minors. We have a separate schools expedition programme to cater for younger age groups.

Clothing and Equipment
All our ventures are in hills or mountainous country and varied weather conditions can be expected at any time of the year. Therefore adherence to our recommended clothing list is very important. It is also useful to remember that many items can be hired, though boots do need to be 'walked in' before day one of your trek.

Any specialised equipment needed for higher grade treks / courses i.e. crampons, ice axes will be indicated in the venture information pack. Group specialist equipment where necessary, such as ropes etc., will be provided by MOUNTAINBAGGERS. All camping equipment is supplied. You will need to provide your own sleeping bag.

Booking conditions and booking form
Please read carefully through your Booking Conditions. Remember holidays / courses are adventurous undertakings and you must accept that in some countries and regions standards are different from the United Kingdom. Come prepared to accept a Challenge.

In the event of a client being unable to complete a venture for reasons other than injury, any costs incurred are to be met by the individual.

Passport, Visa & E1-11 Forms
For all ventures a full individual Passport is required.

No MOUNTAINBAGGERS venture requires a Visa. In addition we would advise obtaining an E1 11 form which gives information about reciprocal health service facilities in Western Europe.

Insurance
You must have full Mountaineering Insurance cover for all our non-United kingdom ventures. We recommend the following companies for comprehensive insurance:
